Dinner and a Movie

I miss my friends. They're all in college.

But on a happy note, I made a crock pot dinner this morning. We ate it for dinner (naturally). It was not as good as I hoped it would be... And the apple pie I made was like apple sauce pie. I'm not sure why... I used 20 oz. apples. Ack! What has become of my culinary skills!!!
But he still ate it.

  1. Who are you guys, Charlie's Angels? (You probably don't know about that show, do you?)

We all have those bad cooking days, even when you're older like me. I still can't make pretty edges on pies, and occasionally my apples in apple pie are slightly crunchy. YUCK!

  2. That's exactly who they were. Don't they do a great impression?

On the crockpot dinner, I have the best luck with a glass topped crockpot and simple ingredients. To a roast I just add onion soup mix and a little water and it usually turns out good.

  3. We all have those bad cooking experiences once in a while! I've had apple pies before that you have made...so you still have my confidence.

Life is that way about friends. We take different paths and there different seasons.

  5. Hey! I din't say it was bad... It just wasn't as good as I expected. The meat and potatoes were very tender but rather bland. I had gotten my hopes up and looked forward to dinner all day (I was sure my hubby was going to be impressed) and I was just dissapointed with the results. Nothing like Mom's roasts. But then again, I didn't use onion soup mix...

  6. And I never watched Charlie's Angels, but yes, that's who we were supposed to be.
