A Wednesday

So I went to the doctor for my consult appoinment today. I guess they won't end up doing an ultrasound till my 20th week (unless needed sooner). This kinda dissapointed me because I thought maybe they would do one earlier... like at 12 weeks or something. Oh well... But I do have to go for an exam in two weeks and then after that other exams and stuff. Today we talked about family history, appointments, classes, tests and various other things having to do with being pregnant. I also had some blood taken so they could do tests for HIV (good joke huh?), some sort of genetic thing that I don't have, and other reasons. The blood man took around eight viles of blood.... I thought he was going to take it all! But I didn't pass out and it was actually kind of neat seeing my blood go through the little tube. Yeah, I know... Weirdo! So that's the first of Dr's appointments. I suppose they'll get more... interesting?

What do you do with unwanted juror summons? I'm supposed to be available for jury duty form April 23-28. Agh! I don't want to deal with that! I'll be moving sometime around then and should be packing and stuff prior to moving. And after I move, I'll no longer be a resident of Monroe County. It says you can postpone it once, so maybe I'll try that. I'm just not sure how to do it. It might be neat to be a juror once, but not now. I'm too busy! Maybe someone can adjust my attitude for me?

Good News!

Well, I want to tell before everyone finds out other ways (like Grandma's). I am eight and a half weeks pregnant. This is what my baby looks like this week. So far everything seems good. I haven't had an ultrasound yet, but I found this picture on the internet and found it to be AMAZING! My first appointment is next week and I'm hoping they do an ultrasound then. It would be so exciting! I had wanted to keep this a secret until my Dad's birthday, but he was getting so worried about me because I've been so sick... I had to tell him to set his heart at ease. Adam and I are both pretty excited, though at first I tried to keep my excitement to a low, because of my miscarriage in November. But now that people are finding out, I'm getting more excited. I think it's great when I tell my friends and they flip out with glee... So fun. I am finding out there are some things that a pregnant woman can be very grateful for. Like...

* the toilet- For two reasons. One when you have to go, and the other in the morning (or other times of day) when you need to peuk. Ugh.
* plastic produce bags in Wegmans- Very important when you have those peuking urges during the middle of grocery shopping. They can save you from at least some embarrassment!
* a friendly face while getting sick in Wegmans- So comforting to be with someone you know!
* a wonderful husband- One you will take care of you when you are sick all weekend. And rub your back when you leaning over the toilet. Again ugh.
* helpful concerned parents and in-laws- Those who will give you advice and assistance when you need it most. And hugs. Thanks!
* excited friends- They even help boost your excitement!!! They get so giddy when they find out.
* helpful co-workers- They watch your back and make sure you don't lift heavy things like the ice bucket. They also tell you all about everything. My boss's husband is 100% sure I'm having a boy. It's great when he tells me so, because he speaks broken English and I think it's so cute.
* the internet- Because you can look up any of your concerns and have the answers at your fingertips at any time of day or night.
* your prayers- It is so wonderful to have the prayers of people you love. I would absolutely love it if you all would keep me and our baby in your prayers for a healthy pregnancy free of complications. Thank you! I love you all!

A Little House

So, you know that little house from two posts ago? Well, last Thursday we put an offer in on it and it was accepted. So now Adam and I are going through the process and the rigors of buying a home. Today the inspection man inspected the foundation and found it to be in satisfactory condition... But he did suggest we do a little grading to keep the water away from the house and maybe get longer downspouts.

The house is really clean. It looks like the people who owned it before redid the whole house just to sell it. Everything has been painted and it has new floors throughout. The kitchen is totally new with new appliances. Even the bathroom has been redone. The house sits on .34 acres and the backyard is fenced in, which is good if we get a puppy... Though I'm not sure what Louis would think about a puppy. I think I could put a small garden in the back and maybe plant some purple carrots. I'm looking forward to putting some pretty bushes in the front and a few flowers. I believe we will enjoy our new house once evrything goes through. It's a little small for big parties, but after we fininsh off the basement we'll have to have a large party with lots of guests :)

So... Who wants to help us move in the end of April?

House Hunting

So Adam and I are house hunting. So far we've looked
at three homes (well, three after this evening).

This house needed to be burned down.

This house needed a new septic system and a bit of work to restore the floor/foundation.

This house might be just right, except for it is right in the middle of a mission field. In which case I might need a big dog. We're looking at this one tonight.
