New Tricks

Josh has learned a new trick. Two new tricks actually. One of them is called smiling and is one of the most wonderful things in the world, as is baby talk. Lately, Josh enjoys talking to me and tells me "stories." It is so cute and I can tell he finds it as much fun to talk to me as it is for me to hear him. He also has discovered how to suck his thumb. One day he was lying in his cradle and I was in the kitchen. I heard this strange sound coming from the other room. I thought it was the cat, but upon further investigation, I found it was Josh sucking away, quite furiously, on his thumb. I must admit, it was quite cute.

All your pictures are so great. Joshua is really looking cute and handsome. That's funny a bout the loud sucking on his thumb.

Here is some probably unwanted advice from the Dental Hygienist:It IS very cute when babies suck their thumbs, Michael did it for a month or so when he was born. Unfortunately a majority of thumb suckers have an open bite or bucked teeth when their through with the habit, which can be very costly to fix. For now I would try to discourage the absolutely adorable thumb sucking habit and encourage the pacifier because you can take that away at a year old or so. He has the most adorable little smile, and the talking is so much fun to listen to!

Awww.. how adorable!I still have a daughter who still sucks her thumb. It was wonderful when she was little, b/c it was so convienent for both of us. But it's a hard habit to break. Keep pushing the paci!!

Okay,I'll see if I can keep him from doing it. It is just so cute, but I know the cuteness of it will wear off eventually.

It is cute...when they are that small.

I think both of his new tricks are adorable. I LOVE the telling stories. So much fun. I was a thumb sucker and I did have to have braces, but it certainly is such a convenient comfort. Maybe if he keeps sucking his thumb, you can just start saving for braces now!

weird - I can't find my old comments on your blog... did you get comments on the third and forth posts (sometime last week I think)... I asked how much Josh weighed, which is why I went back to find my comment to see if you'd answered it.

Judah has never really been a thumb sucker- I think it's so cute when babies do that though!!
